What is the best provider for “flexible” mortgages that allow savings deposits to offset mortgage balance?

This is known as an offset or flexible mortgage in the UK. However I cannot seem to find a similar option in the US.

Can anyone recommend a good Buy-To-Let Mortgage provider?

skavorn asked:

I’m looking to borrow approximately £50,000.

I will have debts of a £10,000 unsecured personal loan, used to finance the deposit.

I already have £3,000 saved, on top of this to pay for fees.

I also have my parents property valued at approximately £250,000 which could be used as a guarentor.

My job pays around £14,000/year. However I can afford about £750/month. About £500/month after my loan repayments

I will be looking to purchase a property in the Middlesbrough area.

Can anyone recommend me a good buy-to-let lender?
and the property would be worth about £60,000

What was a bigger failure: deregulating energy companies, or deregulating the mortgage industry?

Steve asked:

In the push to “get the government off our back” and “let the free market do its job,” Washington eliminated virtually all regulations on energy companies, and later did the same thing on mortgage providers (and more specifically, those who buy and sell mortgages).

Energy deregulation led to Enron and skyrocketing consumer prices.
Mortgage deregulation led to the current meltdown in housing.

Which was a bigger failure?

Effect of 9-18-07 interest rate cut on mortgage interest?

September 5, 2009 by Mr mortgag · 2 Comments

mortgage interest rate
Gala asked:

I’m in the process of refinancing my mortgage and am locked into a good rate guaranteed through tomorrow. However, we still need some requested documentation to finalize everything, and my lenders notified me that they can’t guarantee the same rate if we don’t close the deal as scheduled.

If we can’t close tomorrow and have to reschedule later in the week, could today’s half-point rate cut work in my favor by giving me a better mortgage interest rate?
